Atella is releasing new material, and is getting a brand revamp inspired by classic pulpy sci-fi books and retrofuturism to match! Made by me, which is why you’re hearing about it here… I’ve put some of our inspiration stuff on the bottom of the post!
Check out their new track Mechanical Sparrow, with O. Martin on vocals, it seems he managed to record this in the middle of mentoring the rocket ship that is Aurora right now.

Just wanted to show you some new bits and pieces that are coming along for the music part of my brain. The record, now titled Assemble EP, is now delivered to mastering, and all the wheels are moving.. Can’t wait to have the vinyl in hand.
Meanwhile, some planning and test shooting for a music video is underway, hopefully I’ll be able to show you the final version of the cover art soon. The base design is ready, but of course the label (Maksimal) have to have their stamp on it as well.
This is a new header design, rolling out on all the social media stuff now. Designed by myself, we are a homegrown operation after all.
Speak soon.

When discussing my design process with non-designers, it’s interesting to see what parts of my work makes sense to “civilians”, and what parts are shrouded in some sort of creative mystery.
And moodboards, a vital part of my process, appears to lie in some sort of a twilight zone between comprehension and mystery for a lot of people. (more…)

I used some scraps from other simultaneous projects I have going on (hope to show you those in a couple days) to make this simple cover art: uTeq, a local legend in hos own right, have mixed this introduction to Lackluster, a finnish artist.
I can only assume this will do great in the season we are in, when you are tired from endless barrages of christmas music. Lackluster is mostly known for some pretty atmospheric ambient stuff.

Just made some nice little thank you notes for the holiday orders shipping from this little shop I have going here.
If you have been looking at something, there’s still time to get it before Christmas/Yuletide/Festivus! Our elves are ready to ship stuff out (that would be me).

So somehow I managed to promise you, in a semi-live radio broadcast even, that I would be handing out this madness of a track to you. So here you go, I guess.
Bass Ventura is an ode to Hotline Bling, really. In a weird, mosh-pit head-thrusting kind of way. Hope you like it. God help us all. (more…)

The time is finally here. The time when at last, I get some damn company at our podcast, or as we can now proclaim, we are making the move from just a programme to a damn radio station.
The nabovarsel podcast network™ now has three regularly occurring programmes in the main feed:
—My regular ol’ music programme where I show you some cool music—except now I pick some cool tracks individually and talk about them, in addition to commissioning mixtapes from our awesome network of superstar Djs like we always have.
—Emilio’s interview programme where he talks to important and/or interesting people in culture generally and music specifically, and
—Mario & Kinolars’ programme (plus Emilio as moderator/babysitter/) where they count down to the new Star Wars film by going through JJ Abrams’ filmography one project at the time, making fun of everything in the process.
Did I mention we beat “Ingefær podcast” in the iTunes ranking?
