While working on the new poster for Nabovarsel (which I will be able to show you soon), this form came to me. Too bad I already have an established visual style, I really liked the inherent symbolism and feel of this one. Thoughts?
Making Gmail a little better
I love the new look that Google just rolled out for Gmail and its related services.
But it made me think of one little improvement; something that could reduce my inbox count to its happiest state of zero in no time (and yours, too).
When arriving at work to sort through all the new mails, I have to either click into each one separately and delete/archive/label them, or in the inbox, select the ones I want to archive, then click archive, than go through the list again if something needs to be deleted, and so on.
So this is my idea. When hovering over a new mail in the inbox, delete/archive/spam (maybe even label) buttons pop up, and you can go through your whole inbox like a magic wand, email receipts and stuff nicely stacked going towards the archive, boring newsletters hurled in the trash.
I even made you a little mock-up of what it might look like, to give you an idea.

These are all photos I’ve taken this and last week in Copenhagen. Earlier today I happened to come across a demonstration in the middle of the city, inspired by the occupy wall street protest it seems. Hope you like the photos!
Freebie: Musical theme for your mobile
Did you just upgrade to iOS5 on your iPhone/iPad/whatever? Yeah, me too. One small feature they added without anyone noticing, it the ability to use your own ringtones for various alerts, not just the main ringtone when someone calls. So, naturally, I went completely overboard and made you a musical theme, a whole suite of sounds way better than the boring default ones.
The theme is called “Humans”, as it’s basically made from robots telling you what is going on with your phone. So instead of trying to remember that the “bzzoing” sound means “new tweet”, your phone will just tell you; “new tweet”, in a robot voice.
And if you’re thinking about getting a new phone with the fancy new virtual intelligence Siri, this is the perfect robot companion.
The main ringtone is a bit more fancy of course, a Nintendo inspired composition to psyche you out while you scramble between the sofa cushions for your phone.
Inspiration workout: Primer
As you may have noticed, I regularly post images to my inspiration blog Adrian, that you see a small feed from in the sidebar of this site. In this post, with content from Adrian as examples, I’m trying to delve deeper into that material, and show you how I look at the material I see every day.
It is a common myth about all designers, musicians and artists in general that all of our work comes purely from a mental connection to the cosmos; as an artist and “creative person” we just make stuff completely out of nothing. However, nothing could be farther from the truth. Whether one is aware of it or not, we pick stuff up from all around us all the time. 
Some artists claim to be 100% original in all that they do, my proposition is that they simply are unaware of how they acquire their inspiration.
The “Ether” is a more fitting description than the “cosmos”, I suppose. Some things are just floating around, and we end up picking it up often without being aware of it. One of the more established definitions of the word creativity is the ability to see connections where no connection seem visible, which is exactly what this post is about. The most important skill taught in art school is in my opinion, is the ability to see how and why something is inspiring, and so be able to draw inspiration from nearly anything, by analyzing it.
The inspiration blog I keep mostly as a tool in my own creative process, as a toolbox of ideas that can be tweaked and hopefully made better in my own work. I have one basic rule: I’m not posting images, I’m posting the idea behind the image. Also, the idea has to be actionable. Let me give you an example. (more…)

I just re-made my entire portfolio, from being in its entirety on the Behance network, to a new, more concise and focused presentation. The site is powered by Cargo, which should be familiar to those of you in the creative business.

Blobby type
A friend and brilliant designer from Oslo, Jon Arne Berg, just made a funny type experiment he named cloud A.
So, naturally, I got all inspired and stuff. So here’s my take on the idea, far less readable, just because I can(mouse over the image if you wanna know what it says).
And of course, he actually worked on his version, I’m just waiting for the coffee to finish brewing here.
Spotify playlist: Work 01
Unless you have been living under a rock lately, you probably have Spotify already. So here is my first playlist, specially made for working! It’s a nice mix of ambient and bordering genres, to put your head in the right place for churning out awesomeness from your brain, whatever your profession. At least it works like a charm for me!
