Hooray! The first part of the design work for this years Phono festival in Bergen is done, namely the website and other digital goods. The feedback so far has been just great, so I hope it will still look awesome in a few months time, at the festival itself.
The biggest part of this first launch is probably the logotype revelation. I had a pretty heavy process to arrive at this tape-inspired thing you see up top, and expect to see a lot more of the outlying graphical elements in the upcoming posters.
Go check out their website, which I based on a layout from WPshower, and tweaked to fit. They also have a facebook page that you should click like really hard on.
More parts of the design will be visible as the posters and everything start rolling out.

To take my mind off everything else going on right now, last night I started and finished a new track, called Mace of Molag Bal, for good measure. It started as an attempt to simulate a modular syth rack in software, and ended with saxophones. Have a listen, it’s free after all.
Fun fact: this is the fifth song I have made that starts with an M. If the player gives you trouble, here’s a direct link.

All right, I’ll move on from the feather leafy stuff now. This last original is also available to adorn your wall from my shop, and since it’s smaller than the previous ones, it’s way cheaper, too.
The design for the Phono festival is coming along nicely! Around the 10th of April there will be an official release of the first designs. Stay tuned.

Here’s today’s produce, another study for the Phono design. Ready for your wall!

As a part of my research for the Phono festival design, I’m doing some technique studies, and if you want to put them on your wall, guess what, you can.
The first one is available in the store right now. This is a pretty rare chance to get your hands on some original stuff, since most of what I do is printed these days.
If you see something else you like in the store, you should get on my mailing list like, really fast. Any moment now, I’ll send out a newsletter to everyone on that list, with a pretty crazy discount code in it. So get on it.
I’ve also updated the postage structure to the danish rates, which are better and cheaper and yippee. Did I tell you to get on that mailing list already? Maybe these girls will convince you.

First the good: Turns out, I’ll be the one designing this year’s Phono festival in Bergen!
Not really too much to say at this point, can’t wait to start working on it.
In other news, yes I am totally floored by the death of the great Jean Giraud, aka Moebius aka Gir. The greatest artist I ever knew*, rest in peace.
He named his daughter before I could name mine the same.
* Not like, knew-knew. I wish, huh.

I just updated and redesigned my CV a little. Most of you might not give a cahoot, but since I’m on the lookout for new partners, it can’t hurt to show it to you. And it’s in norwegian, so either whip out your translator, or just look at the pretty colors.
Do you know anyone that might be interested in someone like me on their team? Hook us up already! Print-friendly PDF here.

I’ve been wanting to do a feature on Mattias Adolfsson for a little while now. The man currently holds a place in my top three illustrators, and have been for some time.
He is a fellow scandinavian, based in Sweden, and has a history working in the gaming industry and 3D, before “going analog” as he puts it, in 2007. A wise choice, at least from his fans’ perspective.
Growing up, I was a huge fan of the Serafin books, authored by Philippe Fix. Mattias seems to bring the quirkiness from those books to a whole new level.
Be sure to check him out on Behance if you’re on there yourself, and have a look at his blog. For the devout, there’s even a book you can get, with his drawings.

I recently made these two posters, but I’m uncertain of whether to put them into full production and make them available in the store yet. So i reckon it’s time for some community outreach. What do you think? If there is demand, I’ll try to make it happen. And keep in mind, commenters are the first to get fat discounts!
